AUSTIN (KXAN) – More than a thousand people stood in line for a free flu shot in South Austin Saturday, hoping to steer clear of the virus.

Swine Flu Surge Closes Schools, Tests Hospitals

The Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin had to set up triage tents outside the emergency room as the number of patients coming in each day shot up from about 180 to more than 340, the majority of them with flu-like symptoms. (By Ralph Barrera — Austin American-statesman)

In Austin, so many parents are rushing their children to the Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas with swine flu symptoms that the hospital had to set up tents in the parking lot to cope with the onslaught.
