More than a matter of mere social preference or taste, at Happily Natural Day we identify with this social phenomenon as a by-product of Western cultures imposition of a value upon African people and its result – African’s people negation of self as its own standard of beauty. Our concern is with the social ramifications of 400 years of negating ourselves in conformance to Western society’s mores and how that phenomenon impacts our community in a negative way today. Happily Natural Day addresses the fact that Western society influences people of indigenous descent to act outside of their own self-interest, away from self-determination and toward exploitation and oppression.
HND marks a time of reflection, refocus and reinvigoration for the Afrikan Diaspora in loving the best of ourselves as we were created — the natural way; unprocessed, organic, unrefined, additive-free and unapologetically beautiful! —
I find that with each year I go to Happily Natural Day I'm enriched even more in matters of my life as a active professional member of the the society. The event provides education and sharing of ideals concerning personal growth, connecting with the community and the networking across cultures. There are multiple activities and workshops that that allow attendees to share and grow within a aware community. Its an amazing event. I am very happy it continues to grow each year.
A place to reconnect with like minded spirits to empower our selves as well as our community.
It's an empowering, family friendly, Afrocentric event that embraces all people seeking information about healthy and wholistic living.
HND is one of the premier events in the city that focus on African culture. I look forward to it each year.
Great event to learn something new about your health and wellness and soak in positive energy !
HND encourages me to embrace all of who I am. It is like going home, a family reunion... I see and connect with folks that I haven't seen in a while. Everytime I attend I learn something, I am encouraged to embrace higher health and wellness practices.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience. Really appreciated the opportunity to build with brothas and sistas from the mid-atlantic region. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and was very enlightened by every aspect of the event. The vendor fee was very reasonable and made it easier on travel expenses. I will definitely be in attendance next year. Thanks again;...peace.
